A transparent yellow to yellowish orange solution intended for intrauterine use, produced in glass and plastic vials of 100; 200; 250; 500 and 1000 ml. During storage there is possibility of sediment appearance, which is dissolved when heated.
1 ml of STREPTOFUR« contains 100 mg of streptocide and 0.5 mg of furagin.
STREPTOFUR« is an antimicrobial agent with a wide spectrum of properties. Its components are active against the majority of gram-positive and gram-negative organisms, including Proteus, Escherichia, Salmonella, Streptococci and Staphylococci.
After the intrauterine administration the drug is evenly spread within the uterine cavity, readily adsorbed onto the endometrium, and is active against microorganisms during 48 -72 hours.
- Prevention and treatment of acute post-natal endometritis in farm animals.
- Treatment of chronic endometritis.
Dosage and administration
STREPTOFUR« is administered into the uterus warmed up to 36 ľ 37 ░Đ through a catheter using a Janetĺs syringe or any other type of syringe in the proportion of 0.5 ml/kg (but no more than 200 ml for gross animals). If necessary the course can be repeated after 48 hours until the complete recovery, but not more than 5 times.
In case of the allergic reaction it is recommended to terminate the intake of the drug, which should be followed by the intravenous injection of a 10% calcium gluconate solution and the intramuscular injection of cardiac stimulants.
No other adverse effects or complications caused by STREPTOFUR« administration in accordans with the instruction have been registered.
Slaughter of animals for meat processing is allowed only 3 days after the last administration of STREPTOFUR«. The meat of animals slaughtered prior to the withdrawal period shall be used directly for animal feeding or for production of tankage.
Milk from animals treated with STREPTOFUR« should not be used for nutrition purposes during treatment and within 3 days after the last administration of the drug. Such milk can be used only for animal nutrition after boiling.
STREPTOFUR« should be stored with precaution (List B) at 10 to 25 °C in a dry place away from direct light. Validity period in the prescribed conditions - 1.5 years from the date of production.
